Let first learn some science over here. Do you know that diseases are caused or they are spread through poor sanitation and dirty water that is used in our families? Having good sanitation and clean water is one of the key factors to consider when trying reduce the spread of diseases.

Lack of good sanitation and clean water has lead to more deaths worldwide, and this has caused more deaths than diseases like AIDS, breast cancer and diabetes.

Development organization called WaterAid estimates that around 800,000 women lose their lives due to lack of toilets that are safe and lack of also clean water.

Its believed that this is the situation that is mostly affecting the girls who are still in school and also women. It has really affected their health and dignity and leads to unacceptable cases of deaths.

Conditions that we may look at them as being fatal are heart diseases, stroke and infections that affect the respiratory system. Its believed that more that 1 billion women  around the world  lack safe toilets whereas around 370 million  have no where they can get clean water. These statistics is according to Water Aid.

If we look at some statistics that were given y United Nations, it’s believed that   around 2 billion  people  got a chance to have clean  water around 1990 and 2012 but still a group of people estimated to be around 750 million still lack the  clean water and they are leaving in abject poverty without the basic commodity that is very important in our lives. What mostly causes  maternal and child death  is the lack of clean water and poor sanitation in our homes. In developing countries, women usually give birth in their homes and  where they cannot access clean water and  this exposes the babies who are born to infections that are likely to lead to death. One of the ways of reducing child mortality is by having clean water in our homes and good sanitation. Let there be no open sewages and also the toilets should be very clean with good drainage.
Its also believed that lack of good sanitation and clean toilets leads to sexual violence. This is because women and girl child will go out in the night to relieve themselves and this will lead to sexual harassment and even rape. In the families where piped water cannot be afforded, the work of fetching water is left to girls and they risk being assaulted as they go to fetch water.
